Polished up and ready to roar.

The deed has been done. She has experienced her virgin makeover - inside and out. She's been in my ownership for almost three years, has travelled almost 100,000 miles under my guidance (much of it over farmland) and had never been so much as near a car wash until today. Actually it was today and yesterday, because it turned out to be a two day job. I was stunned when I collected it. New tyres on Monday, full valet on Tuesday and Wednesday, and full service on Thursday. Talk about taking the election seriously!!

Congratulations are due to W R Davies of Newtown - and for two reasons. Firstly, they honoured the pledge that I bought from a promise auction over three years ago - and secondly for the amazing transformation they have performed on my car. As out campaigning tonight, it was a recurring pleasure every time I returned to the car - breathing in the sensual aroma which permeated every nook and cranny. I do not know the name of the miracle worker who is discussing his handiwork with me in the photograph, but I am deeply grateful to him. His handiwork may be that little bit extra that pushes me over the winning line on May 6th.

Oh dear, Glyn, looks like the Shropshire Star are also brianwashing the electorate. Talk about a one-sided article about hte idiot that is Lembit Opik in tonight's issue. As everyone in the area knows, he's lost a LOT of support in the area, but according to the Shropshire Star, he's regarded as a conquering hero.....What on earth is wrong with the papers in our part of the world? No wonder fewer and fewer people buy them. They are a disgrace

Even worse - anon, have you seen the on-line version on the Shropshire Star website? There LO is, bold as brass, telling us of how many jobs he's saved and created during his time as our MP. He hopes he has made a difference to Montgomeryshire. Well yes, he has - that is he has brought attention to our lovely county, but by behaving as a bit of a fool (segway, freebie hols while parliament is sitting and writing for the Daily Sport etc, etc) so that contrary to what he believs - i.e that he is some kind of asset, people actually feel sorry for us having an MP like him and an AM like Mick Bates.

Roll on May 6th, so we can see the back of him at last.

Have received a Lib/Dem pamphlet in the post this morning - have you seen it Glyn? Basically it's just slagging off the Conservatives, says that in Wales "it's a two horse race" that's surprising and totally inaccurate. There is plenty of support for Labour and Plaid. What a light weight Nick Clegg is, he hasn't a hope in hell.

Anon (3) did you see the debate last night? Clegg did'nt look lightweight to me!

The sheer cheek of the LibDems knows no bounds! I really hope no one will fall for their claims and counter-claims. Wherever they have been involved in power (whether it is councils, assembly power-sharing etc) they have left a trail of waste and incompetence (when they are not on free-be cruises or brawling in a Cardiff hospital). Vote for Change!

In the news today, Mick Bates has been charged with common assault and has been suspended from the Lib dem party pending the outcome. How the mighty do fall!

Yes Richie, I did see the debate and to be fair, NC did come off well considering. Still won't make me vote for the Lib/Dems though - not with Lembit Opik as the montgomeryshire candidate. Had another leaflet this morning - did you know that LO saved Abermule post office all by himself? What an ego he has.

BBC: Liberal Democrat AM Mick Bates has been summonsed to appear in court to face charges of common assault and public order offences.

Mr Bates, the AM for Montgomeryshire, has also been suspended from the Welsh Liberal Democrats pending the outcome of the case.

The allegations relate to an incident in Cardiff in January.

South Wales Police said a 62-year-old man had been summonsed to appear in court.

A spokeswoman for the Liberal Democrats said they regarded the matter with the utmost seriousness and Mr Bates's membership of the party had been suspended pending the outcome of the case.

Just hope the Cleggover love-in doesn't have an effect on the Lembit Opik vote. I thought he was okish and the best of the lot but NOTHING would make me vote for them as long as the embarrassing Opik is their candidate here. It HAS to be pointed out that LO did not save the PO at Abermule - in fact, he did not even attend the PO vote in the HoC - and that his writings fot he Daily Sport are a disgrace. As is his attitude towards women.

Roman, is all you do on your own blog and seemingly this one is to copy and paste news stories?

Congrats, Glyn!

Had to laugh when they said on 'Today' that the £ rose slightly on news of Lembit Opik defeat! I like to think it's because there's now someone in the seat who actually genuinely cares for Montgomery, Wales and the UK

Llongyfarchiadau gwresog oddi wrth un na fyddai byth yn ystyried pleidleisio i Geidwadwr. Fodd bynnag, 'rwyn edmygydd o un gafodd ei ethol i'r Cynulliad, aeth ati i ddysgu Cymraeg a llwyddo i safon rhugl. Ac ar ol dysgu'r iaith, fe wnaethoch ei defnyddio a datgan balchder yn y ffaith eich bod yn medru'r Gymraeg. Mae gen i gof bod Lembit Opik wedi addo pan gafodd ei ethol dros Faldwyn am y tro cyntaf y byddai'n dysgu'r iaith ond ni wnaeth. Nid Ceidwadwr fyddai fy newis personol i gynrychioli anghenion Cymru ond mae'n braf cael Ceidwadwr sy'n ymfalchio yn ei Gymreictod. Gobeithio gallwch ddylanwadu ar San Steffan fel y gwnaethoch yn y Cynulliad - rwyn siwr bod yna Aelodau Cynulliad wedi ymdrechu i ddysgu Cymraeg ar ol cael eu hysbrydoli gan eich llwyddiant. Dymuniadau gorau oddi wrth gefnogwr Plaid Cymru a Chardi nad sydd bellach yn byw yng Ngheredigion ac sy'n siomedig yng nghanlyniad fy sir enedigol. Gardis annwyl, dilynwch esiampl Maldwyn y tro nesa' a chael gwared ar Ddemocrat Rhyddfrydol di-werth
